A Seaboard Hospitality Hotel

Meet Assistant General Manager Traci Haslam

Traci Haslam
Throughout the year we like to edify some of our amazing staff at Atlantic View Hotel. We believe they are the heart of our hotel. And why we achieve incredible accolades, high Tripadvisor ratings, and awards.

We interviewed Traci Haslam, Assistant General Manager, at Atlantic View Hotel recently to continue with our series. Here’s the inside scoop!

Q: When did you start working at Atlantic View Hotel?
Traci Haslam: I started working at Seaboard Hospitality in 2016 for their Avenue Inn and Spa hotel at the front desk. Then I worked at various positions at Beach View Hotel, Atlantic View Hotel and Cooper Cottages. The beauty and beach front location attracted me most to Atlantic View Hotel. Plus, the culture, values and positive experience overall is magnetic.

In Hospitality

Q: Where and when did your career in hospitality start?
TH: In 2011 I worked the front desk at a local hotel in Rehoboth Beach off of Rte 1.

Q: What is the most challenging part of your job right now?
TH: Weather! We love having great weather for every guest for every visit, but unfortunately, it’s just out of our hands!

Q: What has been your greatest success thus far in your career?
TH: Making a positive difference in other people’s lives I think is the greatest success. Knowing that I’ve made my staff feel valued, making sure my guests have a memorable stay, and seeing them return year after year while contributing toward the greater goals of Seaboard Hospitality has been my greatest success thus far.

Q: What was your fondest memory of a guest.
TH: There are so many, but that one thing that stands out most is I love fulfilling special requests to make someone’s stay more memorable. It creates positive vibes that permeate the whole hotel. It’s fun to be apart of that.

Personally Speaking

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
TH: Spending time with my husband and 4 kids, fishing on our boat, bowling and participating in 5Ks.

Q: What is one thing very few people know about you?
TH: I played softball (first base) for 7 years.

Q: Who do you admire, or look up to, and why?
TH: My Mom! Her love, kindness, hard work and always doing what she can for her family has had a great impact on me. Her example has shaped me into the person I am today. I like making a positive impact on others because she is such a great influence on me.
