A Seaboard Hospitality Hotel

Appreciation Letter from GM Jason Mathis

Greetings Atlantic View Guests! THANK YOU! We say this at the close of each season, but we realize that we are only successful because of the amazing guests we have the privilege to welcome throughout the year. While thank you is a simple phrase, it truly encompasses the gratitude that we feel towards each of you. We had another amazing season because of amazing guests like you!

Our beachfront location is still the major highlight for travelers. Time and again this year you expressed how much the service we provide made a difference in your experience. Our goal has always been to create an atmosphere conducive to relaxation and fun. We were able to deliver on that goal all season. We are grateful that many of you consider us your home away from home. We are truly one big happy family!

Recent pandemic years were a struggle, but we made it through. This year we were able to return to buffet style breakfast and the response was overwhelmingly positive. We made some changes and upgrades and you let us know in person, and in reviews, how much you loved it! Another change was the return of full stayover service in our guest rooms. This return to normalcy was rewarding for guests and crew alike. In an effort to reduce the items you need to pack in your suitcase or transport in your car, we added beach towels to the amenities we offer and we’re so glad you shared how much you appreciated it.

We received so many thank you letters this season. The Atlantic View team appreciates the kind words that we received from many of you and we can’t put into words how each letter brought a smile to our faces and some even brought us to tears. We are grateful for your show of gratitude. Our goal is to always provide a stay that is memorable, enjoyable and relaxing. It seems that we delivered as expected.

Atlantic View remained number one on TripAdvisor the entire season! We are humbled by your great reviews, your loyalty, and your willingness to share your experience at our hotel with others. Our entire team works hard to show you, our guests, how much you are valued and appreciated. When those feelings are reciprocated, it is a win-win!

Many of you know that we were anticipating an early closure this year to begin renovations on the hotel. This project was delayed until Fall of 2024. We apologize for those of you who had already made other plans and couldn’t join us in October or November. Thank you to those of you who booked your stay once you found out we were extending the season back to our normal closing date. There are many questions about the renovation, First, it is still happening. The new projected start date is October 2024. Stay tuned, or just come back to see what the future has in store.

Several of you came to visit multiple times this season. Others stopped in for your yearly visit, while others we welcomed for the first time. Whether you were celebrating an anniversary or birthday, having or attending a wedding on the beach or at one of our local venues, celebrating a bachelor’s or bachelorette weekend, participating in a mother/daughter, father/son, girl’s trip, bros trip, quiet time away, a romantic weekend, a work trip or conference, you showed up and we are grateful!

From our family to yours…THANK YOU for an amazing season! We could not have done it without you. See you next year!
As the 2023 season draws to a close so does my tenure as General Manager of the Atlantic View Hotel. When I accepted this role in March 2020, I never imagined that my very first season would be welcomed by a global pandemic. Hours were long, operations were abnormal, staff was hard to come by, and ordering supplies was an adventure.

However, you, the guests made the difference. You showed up with smiles and patience that helped give us the strength we needed to keep going. With all the challenges and craziness I wouldn’t trade this experience. I have always had a passion for hospitality and am grateful for Seaboard Hospitality and the guests of Atlantic View Hotel allowing me the opportunity to serve you. I have built connections and friendships with many of you. We have shared stories about our families, our travels, and more. I am grateful for your kindness! I am grateful for your encouragement! I am grateful for your loyalty! I am grateful for your laughter! I am grateful for your smiles!

As I reflect on my time here at Atlantic View Hotel and consider the legacy I am leaving, I am most grateful for the team I was able to build and lead. Your reviews throughout the years spoke of the service you experienced while staying with us, or even on the phone before ever arriving.

As someone who is passionate about great customer service, I am happy to read that you consistently experienced service that was better than most places you have chosen to lodge. While this should be the standard in our industry, you made us feel like we have something special. This is what I wanted to create… a special experience filled with great customer service in a clean environment. Thank you for the opportunity to be of service. I am forever indebted to my team as I could never do this alone. Along with the great guests of Atlantic View, they are my why for showing up every single day.

I pray that I have said something, done something, or provided a smile that made a difference in your stay and in your life. We all make an impact in this world and I pray your experience with me was just as much a positive impact on your life as mine was by yours.

Though my journey continues elsewhere, Atlantic View will always hold a special place in my heart and that includes a spot for each of you. THANK YOU!

In Gratitude,
Jason Mathis
