So those who may be making their first trip ever to Dewey Beach for the Fourth of July may be wondering: What can I expect? What is there to look forward to? Well plain and simple, our answer is a lot! However, since we get the feeling that you’re looking for a few more details, here’s the scoop on Fourth of July activities throughout the area:
First, stop over to Second Street in the City of Lewes at 9am for the start of the Old-Fashioned Fourth of July celebration. From there, the street will be closed off so that children can enjoy playing old-fashioned games before the Independence Day Boat Parade begins at 1:30pm. Once the boats reach the reviewing stand at Fisherman’s Wharf, the judges’ will then decide which boat wins first prize for being most creatively decorated. All in all, festivities will carry on until 6pm that evening.
From there, take a walk around town, relax and maybe grab a bite to eat before heading over to Main Street for the Rehoboth Beach Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular. Launching from the beach around 9:15pm, the grand fireworks display can be seen all over the downtown area, so feel free to plant yourself amongst the crowds on the shoreline and boardwalk and enjoy the show. There will even be live entertainment from the Funsters at the bandstand before and after the fireworks to keep the party going!
What better way to spend Fourth of July Weekend than at the beach, enjoying endlessly fun festivities with family and friends? We can’t think of anything! So book your reservation today and come join us!
