The official first day of fall is quickly creeping up on us and soon enough, we’ll be welcoming beautiful changing leaves, pumpkin-spiced everything and all of the other things that make the temperature drop a little more bearable. Like the summer season, fall always brings the promise of a few great festivals, and this year is no different. For the third year in a row, Millsboro, DE (just 30 minutes outside of Rehoboth Beach) will welcome back the East Coast Garden Center Fall Festival. Will you be here to enjoy it?
One major aspect to the Fall Festival is the 5K run that will wind through a 200 acre bean field across from the East Coast Garden Center at 9 a.m. Pre-registration for the race is $20 and same-day registration will be $25, with proceeds going to benefit Cordrey Charities, Inc. The organization is currently working on a young gardener program that will encourage young students to get outside and take part in both healthy and productive activities.
After finishing the 3.1 mile course, race participants are invited to attend the Fall Festival from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Once there, you can enjoy free 16 Mile Beer, brats, games, hay rides, line dancing and more. Yes, you read that right – we said free beer. Are you really going to pass that up – especially when participating in the race means supporting such a great cause?
