If you are looking to take a last minute spring vacation, feast your eyes (and your stomach!) on Dewey Beach, DE. April is the beginning of the fun and exciting season in Dewey and it all starts April 12th with thrifty finds and delicious chili at the town’s annual Treasure Fest and Chili Cook-Off!
This free event will be held at the Rusty Rudder, where foodies and thrifters will unite to share in a feast of gently-used items and a savory sampling from over twenty chili vendors. Event goers will be able to begin their day scouting for treasures and trinkets in the parking lot of the Rusty Rudder while enjoying free coffee and doughnuts courtesy of Jimmy’s Grill! After you have had your fill of shopping, the chili cook-off will commence at 12 p.m., where competitors will anxiously await to find out if they will be crowned a winner!
Guests who attend the annual Treasure Fest and Chili Cook-Off will also be serenaded by country band, Big Hat No Cattle – the perfect soundtrack to chili tasting and taking in the sights. Attendees will also be able to test their luck at a raffle full of great prizes, with all proceeds going to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association of Delaware. Great food, music and prizes for a great cause!
After you have satisfied your hunger and spent what was in your wallet, head back to the Atlantic View Hotel for some rejuvenation. Enjoy the room’s view and your luxury accommodations before taking in all the rest of what Dewey Beach has to offer!
