We interviewed Alisha Artson, the Front Desk Assistant, at Atlantic View Hotel recently to continue with our series. Here’s the inside scoop!
Q: When did you start working at Atlantic View Hotel?
Alisha Artson: I started working at the hotel about 3 years ago. I saw how much my friend liked working here and I decided to apply. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
In Hospitality
Q: Where and when did your career in hospitality start?
AA: Six years ago I worked at American Inn and found I really enjoyed the hospitality industry. I liked interacting with the guests, being able to meet their vacation needs and being appreciated.
Q: What is the most challenging part of your job right now?
AA: I love the summer rush and the tourist, but the traffic is really the most challenging thing right now.
Q: What has been your greatest success thus far in your career?
AA: Besides working the front desk at Atlantic View, becoming a medical assistant.
Q: What was your fondest memory of a guest.
AA: There are so many, it is hard to pick one. But I love when we have guests celebrating special anniversaries or occasions and we wish them a happy day or do something special and their faces light up or they express their sincere gratitude – those are the fondest memories that come back to me.
Personally Speaking
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
AA: I love traveling with my kids. Seeing new experiences through their eyes is a joy. And spending time at the pool is fun too. From relaxing or playing with the kids – it’s a treat I look forward too.
Q: What is one thing very few people know about you?
AA: I love going to car shows!
Q: Who do you admire, or look up to, and why?
AA: My Mom! She is a go getter. I’ve always watched her work hard and make things happen. I like to think I inherited that trait too.
