Enjoy Barbequed Food and Haunted Fun at the Boo-B-Que by the Sea

jack-o-lantern and black cat Halloween cookiesFall is one of our favorite seasons here at the Atlantic View, since it brings a nice breeze and some spooky fun to the ocean! For families celebrating Halloween with us this year, there are lots of great events to get involved in, including the nearby Boo-B-Que by the Sea. Held at Delaware Seashore State Park, the two day event takes place on October 30 and 31.

This weekend of fun includes a highly competitive barbeque contest, live music, food and craft vendors. Proceeds go to the park’s Children in Nature program, which works to provide fun and educational programs for kids that encourage physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices.

The barbeque competition includes four categories: chicken, ribs, pork and beef brisket. Sanctioned by the well-known Kansas City Barbeque Society, all judges are certified and meat is judged based on appearance, taste and tenderness.

While these delicious aromas waft through the air, take a hayride with your kids and join in the haunted games and a costume contest!  Kids can go trick or treating throughout the event as well and booths will be decorated in spooktacular fashion.

Park admission costs $8 for out-of-state vehicles and $4 for Delaware ones.

Book your stay at the Atlantic View Hotel and get to work on your best Halloween costumes to prepare for this great family weekend. The hotel will be decorated throughout to celebrate and we can’t wait to see you and your winning costumes this Halloween!
